"Where's the remote?" "Check under that mountain of clothes.."

So, I've been on strike for the past couple weeks. The housework has been piling up, projects for decorating our house and sewing clothes have been piling up in my head as well as the supplies for those projects piling up on the dining room table, and ideas for blogging, too. I just keep making lists of what I want to do, then I think, "bleh, I'll do it later." I've just been lazy.
Today, I decided to start by getting the house clean. I've got laundry, dishes, sweeping, mopping, and vaccuuming to do. Piece of cake...or maybe not. At least I'm in the mood to do it.
But first, a blog!
Thursday night, the housing office had another free bbq! They even got a giant inflatable slide. Lydia of course, went down all by herself, then the first time, I took Maya on my lap, but then she wanted to try by herself, so I let her go with Lydia by her side and they had a blast! They would slide down, hop off and run to get back in line, it was the cutest thing. Here they are:

Doesn't that look like fun? It was! I want one for my yard. For a mere $599.99, I could have this one (Not that it would even fit in my yard!):

But it's only for ages 3-10, that's bull crap! They need to make stuff for the adults that think they are still kids. I can see myself climbing up that thing thinking, "I'm short, I can do this." Then the whole thing sadly sinks to the ground. Boooo.

Alright, enough stalling, my house is gonna be sparkling by the end of the day. Sparkling, I tell ya!

Scott's trip to Japan!

Scott sent us some pictures from Japan. They ended up being there for a long time, maybe almost a month. I don't feel like counting it up, but they were there for a while. Anyway, without further ado, here are a few of his pictures:

Scott's biggest fan

A temple

This lady gave him a lap dance.

(totally joking!)

Scotty looking a tiny bit inebriated.

Apparently, Scott likes the older Japanese ladies.

At the edge of the world.

(Actually, it's Mt. Fuji.)

Look closely, children are climbing this mountain. Children.

Scott's favorite picture from Japan.

And last, but not least, this is a "steel beach" picnic.

Nothing like grilling in the middle of the ocean!

Lydia's letter to Daddy. And the comedic stylings of Maya!

Ok, first, let me tell you that for probably over a year, Lydia has been pretending that she has a friend named Lydia (it progressed into 100 friends named Lydia and 100 friends named Lola that came with us everywhere we went for a while, but anyway!). So she's had her imaginary friend Lydia and a few weeks ago, we met a little girl at the park named none other than- Lydia! They were both thrilled and now all they talk about is their best friend, Lydia. (I think the imaginary one is gone now that she has a real one to talk about.) Now she has to tell everyone she knows at least a few times all about her new Lydia. So tonight she wanted to write an email to Scott. So I let her type type type away on my phone to e-mail him and then I heard her reading it out loud. I remembered what she said so I could translate the random letters that she usually types. Here it is:

From: Ro Bennett
To: YN2 Bennett
Subject: From Lydia

DADDYI AVAFRAENRNAMISLYDIA LOVELYDIA

Translation: Dear Daddy, I have a friend and her name is Lydia. Love,Lydia

After typing it out, I looked closer at what she typed. She actually got a lot of the letters right! I was impressed!! She has been trying to read and sound things out and write, but I was completely amazed at how well she did without any help from me. Scott said he knew what it said before he read my translation. Anyway, Proud Mama moment!!

And here's another...
Tonight we were doing knock knock jokes. Maya has never tried one on her own, but tonight she told her first couple jokes!
#1
Knock, knock!
Who's there?
(long pause.....) Boy.
Boy who?
BOY ON TV! AHHHAHAHAHAHA!

#2
Knock, knock!
Who's there?
(looooong pause thinking of a good one...trying to look around the room...then something caught her eye on tv....) Bacon!
Bacon who?
BACON CHICKEN NUGGETS!!! AHHHHHAHAHAHAHA!
Then it dawned on me..that last one made sense! "Bakin' chicken nuggets!" Must be a coincidence....or she's a genius.

"Do I have a bruise on my butt?"

Tonight after bath time, I noticed Lydia had a big bruise on her butt, so I told her to look at it in the mirror. (I thought she'd be curious to see it.) So she was twisting around trying to see it and Maya, of course, wanted to be just like big sister. She she was twisting her own little body around looking in the mirror and then she asked Lydia, "Do I have a bruise on my butt?" So Lydia crouched down on the floor to inspect Maya and what do you think happened? Yep, Maya tooted right in Lydia's face! Lydia fell to the floor yelling, "Ew! Disgusting!!" Then we all cracked up about it.

P.S. We're an extremely classy family in case you haven't already figured that out.
