Try the limes!

Here are some pictures....FINALLY.
...
First, Lydia's big idea to peel a lime and eat it like an orange. We all had to try.

P.S. It was not yummy.

Lydia started cheerleading practice tonight. She had so much fun!
Maya learned a little, too!

So, there you have it. I'll try to remember to put some videos up later.

XOXO BYE!

Picture pages, picture pages...

Here's a cool tree where Lydia will go to Kindergarten. Here's our living room after I moved the couch and made some pillows and painted the lamps! I like the yellow in there a lot!
Trying out the panoramic thing.
Lydia's picture of me as a princess and Scott slaying the dragon (with a plastic sword, she says. Also, she says Trish's husband, Jim, is in the dragon costume.)
Peace out, homies.

First Class!

Scott is a First Class now!
Here he is during the award ceremony. For his uniform, he used to have 2 of those V's under the eagle on his arm, now he has 3. Pretty sweet, right?!

Ok, that is all for now. Bye!

Pictures, Pictures Everywhere!

Ok, so I've been meaning to post pictures for a while, so here are a bunch!

Here are the girls last week. (The night before Scott went on deployment.)

Hooray for sleeping bags!

Here is someone's lawn not too far from us. I've been wanting to take this picture forever, but I never have my camera ready...until a few days ago! This person actually made trees out of sea shells. Their neighbors must be thrilled.

Here are the girls at the Mother/Daughter Tea. None of us had tea. One lady actually gave me a strange look when I asked her if I could have ....*gasp*....cold water!!!!

Here are the girls after Kelly did their hair! I love it-but it made me feel a little lazy cuz the most they get outta me is usually a ponytail.

This is what Scott and I look like after eating tons and tons of food at Rei Do Gado...I mean tons! Oh wait, we look no different from every other day....crap. Oh well, at least we looked pleased with our gluttony.

Here we are with our ridiculous gardening tools.

Scotty with the Ove-Glove and the girls' plastic rake.

Kelly and I lookin' purdy.

Shelly and I doing what we normally do. We tried like 5 times to get this picture of both of us with only one eye crossed.
That's all for now. I'll put more pictures up when I find the cord for the camera.
BYE!

Deeelicious!

I made homemade granola bars! They are yummy, but I just ate too many. I better go do my workout before Scott gets home and I don't feel like doing it anymore! Anyway, here they are...love them from afar!

Maya is 3!!

So, we had Maya's surprise rainbow party today! I think the most fun for me was seeing all my friends and their kids hiding behind my furniture. :) I wish I would've rememberd to get my camera out for that. Of course, Maya had fallen asleep for a few minutes right before they came home, so she wasn't exactly thrilled when everyone yelled "SURPRISE!" She kindof side-stepped over to Scott and hung her head, like she was embarrassed. Oh well! We tried. She cheered up after a minute and had a good time.

I was so thrilled with the cupcakes. The recipe was a little strange because they ended up tasting like sugar cookies, but I think they were delicious and the colors in them turned out perfect. She had requested for the icing to be pink with sprinkles and although, my vision for them was with white icing and sprinkles, how could I say no?

I totally failed as a game organizer, though. I only got 4 punch balloons as the big prizes for the games (which were pop the balloon with your butt and a spoon/egg race), then Scott used all 4 prizes for the 1st 4 balloon poppers, so I scrambled for more prizes, luckily, I had bought 4 pinwheels for the start/finish of the egg race, so I used those as prizes. I figured the first 2 and last 2 racers would win so the smaller kids would still get something. But Lydia and her friend won 1st and 2nd, so I didn't want to let Lydia get the big prize, so she was mad. Then her friend had already gotten a big prize for the other game and I didn't want her to get 2, so she was mad. I realized that I should've just bitten the bullet and bought everyone the same big prize OR we could've just said "yay for the winners!" and given everyone their goody bag. Anything would've been better than the 2 oldest kids there crying and pouting. Oh well! I felt silly for that happenning, but what can you do? So I went against my whole little plan for the party and gave all the kids their goody bags, then had cupcakes, then did presents. It all worked out in the end and as I type this, Maya just fell asleep on the floor next to me!

On a side note, we learned how far you can blow up a balloon. This picture below was taken just seconds before it burst and we all screamed like little pansies. Isn't it HUUUUGE?! (Also, the ballon blower upper thing is awesome! I may never have to touch my lips to a nasty balloon again!)

We also learned that our old Barbies are very welcoming to the new Barbies.

Tadaaaaaa!

Hi! Remember me? I've been so lazy and have't felt like posting anything. I can't believe 2 months has gone by.
ANYWAY, so Maya turns 3 in a few days. She has asked for a surprise rainbow themed party. I love that she wants it to be a surprise. After I thought about it, I realized that Lydia asked for a surprise party for her 3rd birthday, too. It's so easy to do at that age, too. Just stop talking about their party for a few days, then on the day of the party, Scott takes them to the toy store, then have it all set up and stuff by the time they're home. And blammo- Surprise! I'm excited, it's gonna be so cute.
I'm on Scott's laptop, so I don't have pictures from my camera, but I do have some absolutely stunning ones from our webcam.
Marvel at our beauty:

(This first one is my nephew, Sam.)

I know, I know..this is a family blog and that last one of me is totally too hot for underage viewers, but sometimes you have to make an exception.
Ok, so more big news that I hope I can remember to post more about later. #1 Maya learned how to snap her fingers. #2 Lydia learned how to ride a 2-wheel bike without training wheels! I have videos of both things and I'll try to get my lazy butt to post them tomorrow or something.
Ok, that's all for now, I need to relax and be a couch potato because I have a throbbing ear ache. Aww, poor me.

Lookie here!

Bleh, I've been bad about blogging. It's crazy how time goes by so quickly and before you know it, a month has gone by. Maybe I can get myself to blog a little more often.

Anyway! Here are some pictures from the Daddy/Daughter Dance that I've been meaning to put on here. Scott took Lydia. We figured Maya was a little young for it, so maybe he'll take them both next year. We went to Chuck E. Cheese while they were there. Scott and Lydia had a good time...until after a while, the YMCA song came on and Lydia got frustrated trying to make the letters with her arms and decided she was done, so they came home.

Lydia and her friends
The dads and their girls

In other news, I am officially 28 years old. I decided I wanted a cake, so I baked myself one and let the girls frost it. It was fun. The girls didn't try to eat too much frosting and no one needed a bath afterwards, so it was a success. Then Scott called at 4 and wanted to get someone to watch the girls so we could go out for dinner...at 5. Luckily, Kelly is awesome and said it was cool. So we went to Outback...mmm...steak... We also decided to be idiots and order cheese fries and I amazed even myself at how much food I can put away. No wonder I gained back most of the weight I lost while Scott was gone!

...Which brings me to my next quest...instead of New Year's resolutions, I've decided to go with birthday resolutions: 1. Be on time for things. 2. Work out more. 3. East less junk. 4. Keep the house tidier. So, basically all the New Year's Resolutions I've had for the past 8 or so years. It's going good so far. The working out is actually cool. I got the Jillian Micheals' 30-day Shred that is all the rage around here (ok, so it's only Kelly and Robyn doing it, but still..). I've been on time taking Lydia to school and picking her up before she's the last kid left (she totally called me out on that a few days ago which prompted my resolution making). Number 4 is my biggest downfall. Housework is the root of all evil. Once it's done, you can't relax, you gotta go back and do it all over again. Anyway, life beckons me.
Adieu.

"I want to hear the toot song!"

I know, I know, it's been forever since I've written. Lydia's had a month off of school and Scott's been home a bit, so I've just been trying to keep up with life, pretty much. But Lydia went back to school today, so things are getting back to normal.
Last month, we went to this thing for military families where they gave us groceries for Christmas dinner and a couple toys and we got to see Santa and stuff and one of the things we got was this cd of Christmas songs....all pertaining to farts, burps, throwing up and pooping. Thank you, military housing office. Of course, being me, I was all about it at first. We were dying laughing and having a good old time hearing all the farts (the girls call them "toots"), then came the sounds of throwing up. That ruined it for me. It just ended up being pretty nasty. So we took it out after a few minutes and we haven't listened to it since.
So, today I had the radio on while Maya and I went to the commissary (the military grocery store) and the presidential inauguration came on. I didn't realize what time it was going to be on, so I turned back around to go home to hit record on the dvr. So back to driving and they introduced Aretha and I got all excited and turned up the sound and told Maya, "Listen, Baby, this is history in the making!" To which she replied, "I'm not a baby! I want to hear the toot song!" Me,"Honey, we gotta listen to this, the toot song is put away..." blahblahblah, she asked a few more times for the toot song, but I kept telling her how great the song was. So fast forward to President Obama (wow, it's weird to type that!) being sworn in and although, I'll admit I didn't vote for him, I'm actually very happy he was elected and I started getting all choked up listening to them talk. And I said to Maya, "We have a new president, Honey!" She looked out the window all excited/confused and said, "Where?!" Silly.

Anyway, I have a couple cute pictures to share.
First, Scott and the girls.
The girls playing with their people.
Lastly, Scott attacking Maya and Lydia attacking Scott. Good times.

Ok, that's all for now. Bye!
